ABOUT WAN-NET
The 'Women Ambassadors of Nigeria Network (WAN-NET)' is a platform of Nigeria's female ambassadors, created in 2023 and formally registered in 2025. The Network aims to promote professionalism, enhance competence, and improve skills and capacity of women ambassadors to deliver capably on their mandates. It is a platform that also advances the development of women generally, reflecting SDG 5 and its relevance to the promotion of women's representation in leadership, governance and politics, as well as other spheres of development pertinent to nation building, peace and development. WAN-NET celebrates the contributions of women to development, supports women's initiatives, amplifies the voices of the amazing work being done by Nigerian women globally. The association was partly borne out of the need to take advantage of Nigerian Government's efforts to promote women's participation in every sphere of leadership and development, and is guided by values such as integrity; accountability; equity; commitment to ideals of National unity; credibility and dedication to common goals and objectives.
OUR AMBITION
1) Involvement of women in Leadership and governance at all levels in both private and public sectors.
2) Supporting women's participation in Politics and governance.
3) Designing Policies targeting all development aspects that takes cognizance of women's rights and development.


OUR OBJECTIVES
Some of the Forum's primary objectives include but are not limited to the following:
◦ Providing opportunities that will enhance the female ambassadors' capacities to effectively deliver on their government given mandates.
◦ Mentorship of upcoming female diplomats.
◦ Explore and share mechanisms for grooming competent, experienced and result-oriented women for leadership roles and positions; and
◦ Positively expand the group's sphere of influence for the purpose of motivating other women and women groups.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership to the Network is open to retired, serving and future female ambassadors of Nigeria.
